All is good in the land of smiles, pushed thru the heat with fever, migranes and sick gut, 1st stop Kiatphontip MT for some real Bangkok style intense fighter training, finished week with swollen knee and sore allover but feeling great. Now in Phuket at Tiger MT & MMA, raining every day, training camp has begun with reg 2hr+ session twice daily just as the doctor ordered and soon ready to fight as planned... stay tuned more updates to be posted... Welcome Mr. Kelvin Spalding to the club as one of our new MMA/BJJ head instructors, surely to be a great assest with his experience as a purple belt BJJ practitioner and amatuer boxing fighting background. Congrats to all who participated it this wkend at our grappling event we hosted, all fought well with great attitudes in true spirit of our positive wil-machado way. Impressive performances by many with even some spectacular flyin armbars courtesy of light division winner Mark.S... (check out the video on our facebook page) and a lot more technical BJJ if u wern't there you missed out, so get down when we host the next bigger n better event prob in a few months time. See u on the mat Regan 16/7/10 UCMMA 2010-BJJ Grappling Tournament! SAT 24th July... Next Saturday we are running an interclub BJJ Gi round robin tournament at the club open to all affiliate will-machado students. Start time is 12pm, entry $20 and we will finish the day with a BBQ and open mat! Great opportunity for all students all levels to get some more challenging grappling experience outside their normal comfort zones in preparation for the upcoming September nationals. The movie night has been changed from thursday due to change in screening time, now to this Saturday night after regular open mat session we are going for a bit of social fun "Ong Bak 3" Movie Night @ Hoyts Highpoint starts 6:40pm, all UCMMA students welcome to attend. Speak to Big Pete for tickets! See u there! Regan 1/7/10 BJJ SEMINAR NIGHT! This Monday 5th July we have a special BJJ Seminar Night with guest instructor Arthur Lee coming to share his skills! The seminar will run 2 full hrs kick-off at 6:30 til 8:30pm (don't be late!) and opportunity to roll with Will-Machado Blackbelt afterwards. This is a great opportunity to learn from one of the best and guaranteed to enhance your bjj fight game, so don't miss out! This will replace your regular 6:30pm onwards classes but sure to offer you a whole lot more, kids and teens class will still be on and the seminar afterwards is open to all levels beginner to advanced teens & adults. Yes the new mats have finally arrived at the club and now all set up n ready to roll for tomorrows new intermediate class starting at 6:30pm for 1 & 2 stripers and we have Big Dan O'Keefe- Australasian BJJ Champion teaching. Check out our new timetable as our club grows we are adding more classes to give you guys even more..., we have just added a new Muay thai technique/sparring class on tues 7:30pm which will begin 15th this month meaning thursday MT will now be a conditioning/ fundamentals session. Open mat will now run tue 6:30pm-7:30pm and we will be adding back open mat thu 6-7pm. Awesome skills, keep on making them even more awesome boys! Regan 22/5/10 SMASH HIT MUAY THAI SEMINAR! Today was an awesome turnout for our muay thai seminar @ sityodtong with the smiling but deadly kru jeab taking all 17 of ultimate combat students who attended thru rounds on the pads and giving valuable tips to improving everyones standup game. The day was a great experience allround with feedback of many requesting more, so I am considering a regular seminar invitation to kru to allow all students another opportunity to learn more from the experienced thai master.
